SonicLab / AI & apps
Learn a sound by changing it.
A SwiftUI music-learning project that brings synthesizers, drums, loops, and sound concepts into an interactive workspace.

Explore how it works
Try it yourself ↓See the shape. Hear the difference.
Change an oscillator and its envelope, then play a short note.
Keep your device volume comfortable.
Frequency changes pitch. The oscillator changes timbre. Attack and release shape how the note begins and ends.
A small browser synthesizer explaining concepts from SonicLab. Audio starts only when you press Play; this is not a capture of the SwiftUI app.
The challenge
Terms like oscillator, envelope, and filter become easier to understand when there is a sound to experiment with. SonicLab explores a playful interface for connecting those concepts to hands-on tools.
How I built it
Build a workspace for experimenting
A retro desktop-style interface brings together a synthesizer, drums, and a looping-and-recording canvas.
Connect tools and lessons
Learning material covers oscillators, ADSR envelopes, filters, harmonics, FM synthesis, and echo alongside the music-making workspace.
Keep the experience native
The project uses Swift and SwiftUI with custom audio-engine code, including a later Swift Playgrounds version.
What came out of it
An interactive music-and-sound learning project developed across a native app and Swift Playgrounds revision.
