Explore how it works
Try it yourself ↓Useful context, even without a connection.
Select words in a sample sign and follow them into a preset translation with the connection switched off.

Offline scenario · same local resultThis sample uses an on-page dictionary. Switching the connection does not change it. The original project explored running recognition and translation on device.
An explanation of the offline text-recognition flow. The frame is an illustration and the translations are fixed examples, not a camera feed or live vision model.
The challenge
Visitors need context while moving through an unfamiliar place. The competition project explored how a private, offline-capable app could translate text, recognize landmarks, and provide relevant travel guidance.
How I built it
Use the camera as an entry point
I led the implementation of on-device computer vision for real-time text translation and landmark recognition.
Add local context
The team combined Apple Intelligence and native frameworks to build context-rich guidance for World Cup visitors.
What came out of it
Won the AI / ML category at Tecnológico de Monterrey's October 2025 iOS Hackathon in Monterrey and advanced to the national competition.
A hackathon project described in my résumé; no public app release is claimed.
